Why Ultra Lunam

Tarja (Tadia) Kallinen was born in Helsinki, Finland. Her Finnish roots have kept her grounded while the world has changed dramatically in the last few decades.

She has an adventurous spirit which led her to Seattle over 30 years ago. She fell in love with the city and the Puget Sound region and stayed.

On a recent July morning, after having scrolled through her Facebook feed, she began to think about how our culture pushes us to present ourselves in a certain way. We need to be happy, our lives need to be perfect, we need to be succesful. And most of all, we need to win. We are judged by our peers to fit this mold, and we compare ourselves to each other and judge ourselves. Often it is a cruel world.

This realization inspired Tarja to think about how to express all of oneself without fear. She wanted to embrace authenticity of self and accept the dark side as well as the bright side.

Ultra Lunam, Two Sides of Me was born.
